The Tents at Vineyard Grove
The term “tent” has
whole a new meaning. They are like none other. These
are new and offer our guests an alternative experience
from staying in our rooms and garden cottages. Whether
it is overnight or for a week, with friends or family,
you will be charmed.
The notion of a cottage community
has its genesis from the meeting camp in the mid-1800’s
and beginning 1900’s. All of these camps were
referred to “Groves” and proved to be hugely
popular summertime destinations for the whole family.
The tents, surrounding a tabernacle where revivals were
held for weeks at a time, began literally as tents.
These evolved into wood sided tents with canvas tops,
then into wooden cottages in the Victorian or carpenter
gothic stile. Still, they were called “tents”.
Hope and Glory’s Tents at
Vineyard Grove capture that same spirit of community.
Seven Carpenter Gothic “tents” in the woodlands
behind White Fences Vineyard & Winery. Most have
views of the headwater marshes of Carter’s Creek.
This is canoe and kayak depth water with a serpentine
channel winding through salt grasses. Blue heron, wild
turkeys, beaver and other wildlife are abundant
Hope and Glory’s Tents at
Vineyard Grove are extraordinary three bedroom, three
bath cottages which were individually furnished and
exclusively by our designer, Lisa Sherry. Although designed
to be quaint, each cottage offers an expansive main
floor complete with fireplace, living and dining areas
and a kitchen. A master bedroom and master bath are
on the top level; and, two queen bedrooms and baths
are on the lower level. Special amenities include a
screened porch, and your very own outdoor shower.
To further develop this sense of
community, all of these tents are entwined by winding
paths. A dock is available for our guests to canoe and
kayak. Our new swimming pool is only a short walk away.
