Hope and Glory Inn
The
Hope and Glory Inn is a country inn of seven rooms in
an historic schoolhouse, six garden cottages and eight
tents within a vineyard on the headwaters of Carter’s
Creek. All of which have been individually styled by
Lisa Sherry.
Tucked behind a white
picket fence, Hope and Glory is settled amongst English
gardens featuring flowers and plants not seen in Virginia
since the 1800s. Meant to remind you of your grandmother’s
garden, it is not contrived or over-designed. Butterfly
bushes, heirloom roses, and walls of lavender wisteria
form merely part of the Inn’s whimsical stage.
Inside, a large, music-filled living room dominated
by columns entwined with vines and tiny white lights
beckons you to relax on overstuffed furniture surrounded
by quirky folk art pieces.
In
the seven upstairs rooms and six cottages at Hope and
Glory, headboards are fashioned from wooden fences and
antique market finds. Each cottage has an enclosed patio;
all share an outdoor shower (circa 1940) and claw footed
tub where you can bathe by the light of the moon or
the warming rays of the sun.
The Hope and Glory
Inn also offers its guests another one-of-a-kind experiences
which are eight cottages nestled within the White Fences
Vineyard situated at the headwaters of Carter’s
Creek. These three-bedroom, three-bathroom Carpenter
Gothic cottages each feature screened-in porches and
outdoor showers. The Vineyard also features a large,
private swimming pool ideally situated amongst the trees.
